Once upon a time, there was a beautiful, sun-drenched forest world where a colony of fairy-like (as in, very attractive and rather frivolous) people lived. My character was a member of this group, but was the only one suspicious of their idyllic life. See, no one knew where they had come from, no one remembered anything prior to Paradise, and no one knew what lay beyond the borders of their world other than that it was dark, dangerous and apparently monster-filled.
(Think The Village.)
So, she set off to explore. Everyone warned her that the outside was dangerous- but no one could really say why, because no one had been there. As it turns out, the Paradise was an enclosed, interior area within a gigantic, dark, abandoned warehouse-like, towering building. There were no monsters (as far as she could see) but there was an extreme sense of foreboding. Unfortunately it turns out there really WAS a danger- a tall, skeletal, figure captured her and dragged her off to a higher level of the building.
Turns out, the Paradise (and surrounding area) had been built by this Demon. It wasn't made clear why, but my character knew that all the Paradise residents were in danger. He explained to her that all of the residents were his prisoners as well- but their amnesia concerning their location made it much easier to keep control of them. My character's troublemaking was problematic, and he was pleased she'd ventured out on her own- everyone would assume "monsters" had eaten her, and he would be free to dispose of her and be rid of her questioning.
My character, rebellious to the end, taunted that she wouldn't be the only one. Others were sure to follow- their situation was questionable. Interestingly, the Demon considered this- and decided that yes, this was probably true. Thus, to solve this problem, he would make her his slave, and she would be tasked with patrolling the borders and killing any who tried to escape. Then there really WOULD be the threat of monsters to keep everyone in line.
AND THUS she became Hunter, and her pretty fairy markings were turned dark and she grew claws and fangs and got a new black wardrobe. Hunter patrolled the borders, jumping and swinging from the abandoned rafters and pipes, keeping watch over the Demon's domain. None tried to escape for quite some time, probably scared into submission by her disappearance. Unfortunately, the first person to venture out was the last person Hunter would want to hurt- a girl who (like everyone in this damn dream) was nameless but looked remarkably like Kimmie.
Of course, the Demon's programming forced her to pounce and pin her, but she couldn't bring herself to hurt her. And Kim recognized her too- after the obligatory moment of terror, she called her by name and asked what in god's name had happened to her, obviously noticing the mutations. Hunter winced and fought her programming and let Kim up, crouching some distance away and explaining tightly that she needed to go back to Paradise. Kim asked why, noting that Hunter had escaped, and asked again what had happened. Of course, all this commotion had made the Demon curious about what was going on, and Hunter forcefully dragged Kim back to Paradise, explaining that she'd see her again soon but for now she had to wait.
The Demon summoned Hunter and questioned her about what had just happened- apparently he knew someone had tried to escape, but didn't know who, or what had happened after. Hunter claimed that it was a minor occurrence- that someone had ventured barely beyond Paradise before seeing her and fleeing back inside. That seemed to mollify him, and she was rewarded for performing her duties well (which pissed Hunter off since she still haaaated the Demon, but thankfully he bought it).
More time passed uneventfully, and then one day the Demon announced that he was taking a short leave of absence for unspecified business. Hunter would be in charge of insuring nothing happened while he was gone- he was still under the impression that his programming was flawless. As soon as Hunter knew he was gone (his presence was easily felt), she headed off to Paradise. Apparently the other residents had been alerted to the fact that there really was a monster, so she had to evade some guards on her way in. Thankfully the rest were asleep, and Hunter found and woke Kim without incident. The two of them headed out of Paradise together, but Hunter was completely unable to leave the tower- the programming caused extreme agony the moment she stepped foot outside its boundaries. She'd have to kill the Demon to be able to leave.
So Hunter pulled her close and said her goodbyes, promising to see her again as soon as possible, and headed back into the tower to wait for the Demon's return, planning her attack.
THE END
At this point the dream changed to something else, so I don't know how this story turns out. It DID become a different "rescue Kim from a place" dream but this one was more cyberpunky.

Bright eyes, how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly suddenly burn so pale?

Top that off with a werewolf protagonist, a massive war, and a very in-depth background in philosophy and a love for deep, philosophical novels like "Atlas Shrugged", "Brave New World", "1984 and "The Outsider"... and... well... you get the picture.
Your writing is quite good; keep reading and practicing and you could really be great!
